What Opportunities Will 2009 Bring You?
Ó
Michael Brill 2008
The theme of this issue is, “What
can I do in 2009?” What can you do? You
can change the world! You can change yourself. You can volunteer. You can plant
a tree. You can help someone. You can pick up trash along a roadside. You can do whatever you choose to do. The
underlying energy of the year is learning to make yourself your first priority,
by discerning your amount of involvement with others.
To quote Bob Dylan, “The times
they are a changin’.” The collapse of
economic systems that believed if it
ain’t broke, don’t fix it! is a pulsating red neon light telling us all to
live more proactive lives’. A good first
step is to begin doing what you love, not to be loved or to be in control. You
might think, “That’s easier said than done.” Well, it really isn’t that
difficult. Many of us have forgotten that we not only guaranteed ourselves a
successful life, we also chose our life experiences and the passion we came to
pursue.
Numerologically, the universal
energy of 2009, a 2 universal year (2+0+0+9=11, 1+1=2), calls for working in
partnership with others. This is usually taken to mean working harmoniously
with others’ (e.g., humans, animals, plants, and the environment.)
I believe this is also a year to
strengthen your partnership with Spirit. It is time to let go of personal
agenda’s and demands’ associated with ego based abandonment issues, and embrace
the knowledge that if we allow ourselves to be guided by Spirit, our intentions
and desires will be fulfilled; thus assisting us to be fulfilled by living the
life we choose to live.
As the originator of Cosmic Numerology, I believe that after
a post-life review with Spirit, we consciously choose what we will experience
during our next incarnation by selecting the letters of our name and the
numbers for our birthday. Our name reveals our emotional and psychological
behavior patterns as well as our strengths and weaknesses. Our birthday
identifies our destiny, life challenges, mental patterns, and the physical
opportunities that will enable us to fulfill our life calling. We also choose specific life challenges as
well as providing for their “soulutions.”
(See www.awakener.com, Articles,
“abandonment issues as catalysts’...”) None of us would have ever chosen to
come here, if we didn’t know beforehand that we have more than enough grace to
successfully fulfill our part of the divine plan, in this lifetime.
In numerology, your use or nonuse
of the energies of a personal number can influence every aspect of your daily
life including your behaviors at work, in relationships, and with family. Personal
numbers can also identify potential experiences, giving us foreknowledge that
allows us to make more proactive life choices.
In this article, I would like to
discuss the vibrations of the personal year (PY). The PY cycle lasts nine years with each
preceding year setting the tone for the following year. The PY begins on January 1 and lasts until
December 31.
In just a moment, I will show you
how to determine your personal year and describe the events and opportunities
2009 will bring into your life; but first I’d like to discuss the energy of
2008.
2008 was a Universal 1 year (add
2+0+0+8=10 1+0=1). This was the beginning of a new universal 9 year cycle. What ever activities we were engaged in
(relating to our personal year), our level of self-confidence and the degree to
which we “allowed” the universe to guide us, played a major role in determining
whether the outcome was viewed as positive or negative.
This was a year when the energy
of the 1 (initiating, moving forward, gaining confidence, getting more centered
and breaking old paradigms’) melded with the energy of your personal year.
(Read more about 2008 at www.awakener.com.
Articles.)
2009 is a Universal 2 year
(2+0+0+9=11 1+1=2, actually 11/2).
Eleven (11) is the first of the double-digit master numbers. As the
first of the master numbers, it can be very frustrating at times. The energy of the 11 allows one to “see” the
way things ought to be, but does not give the power or the opportunity to make
them that way. From a positive view point, this can be a year of
self-enlightenment. Negatively, it could be a “me first, you second” year.” The
challenge is to find a balance between codependency and control in your interactions
with others.
So, “what can you do” in 2009?
You can ask for help, and cooperate with others while still moving forward and
focusing on your foundation.
How
to Determine Your Personal Year (PY) for 2009
The PY is found by adding your
month and day of birth together (called the Achievement Number) then reducing
the sum to a single digit. Add that
digit to the current year, which has also been reduced to a single digit. For example, 6/5 (June 5)) added together
equals 11. Add 1+1 for a total of 2.
Then add the digits of 2009 (2+0+0+9=11 1+1 =2). Next add both totals (your
Achievement Number) 2 + 2 (universal year) = 4 (personal year.) The year 2009, is a 4 personal year.

The 2009 universal
solution for everyone is 4:

1 PY focus on your passion . . .
develop the courage and faith to do what you love
2 PY focus on timely
communication, releasing emotional, and sentimental attachments, interact with
others from love and compassion. Work on your relationship with Spirit.
3 PY focus on focusing. Social interactions need to be emotionally
honest.
4 PY focus on making it happen;
no procrastination, no stubbornness
5 PY focus on being conscious of
opportunities for change and new beginnings
6 PY focus on letting go of
unrealistic expectations of Self and others
7 PY focus on trusting that
Spirit is always present and supportive
8 PY focus on walking your talk
9 PY focus on practicing
unconditional love and releasing emotional baggage
Regardless of what personal year
an individual, business, or country is experiencing each year, the solution for
everyone on the planet is universally the same.
This year the universal solution is 4.
Four (4) is concerned with order, system, and structure. It calls for
paying attention to the details, building solid foundations, making ideas into
reality. The challenge would be: getting lost in minutiae and detail,
procrastinating, reactionary behavior, bullying.
A
"One" Year New beginnings.
Your own masculine energy
(assertive behavior) is required to initiate your plans. This year sets the tone for the remainder of
the 8 years of this cycle. You will
begin to feel this energy by late October of the preceding year. It is an ideal year for starting new
projects. Do not expect to start a new
personal relationship as all of your energy should be directed toward birthing
the project decided upon in your 7 PY (2006).
If you are in a relationship, tell your partner that you need to make
your Self your first priority and will give them as much of your energy as you
can.
Your major challenges this year are to stay focused
on the task at hand by overcoming any feelings of inadequacy and to ask for
help if needed.
A
"Two" Year Cooperation.
Your own feminine energy
(intuition /cooperation) is required for seeking, accepting, or offering
help. This is a year when the ego should
be put on a shelf. This is a year for
beginning or ending relationships (social, romantic, business or with
Self). You will meet many people that
will help you along your path. Because 2
is the number for partnerships, this is a year to strengthen your relationship
with Spirit by learning to trust that everything is divinely timed. The timing is right to begin or end a
relationship
Challenges for the year can
revolve around a tendency to trust your logic more than your intuition and to
be a bit stubborn.
A
"Three" Year Social Activity and Creativity. This is an ideal time to renew old
friendships and form new ones. It is a
year of creativity, manifestation, and for expressing your Self socially and/or
through art, music, writing, or speaking. Have fun! Bring joy into people's lives. It is a time when the ideas and plans
implemented in the 1 PY come to fruition.
This is the best year, other than a 1 PY, to birth new ideas and
projects.
Your challenge is to pay
attention to details not just the concept.
A
"Four" Year Focus on work. Be practical.
You may feel "boxed-in"
or "put-upon" or a sense of limitation. The 4 represents the foundation. It is time to concentrate on work and to pay
attention to the details. Don’t procrastinate.
You cannot depend on others for help, they will not do the job
to your satisfaction and it will take more time to educate them than it would
to do the job yourself. Put off taking a
vacation until mid-August.
The major challenges involve
unrealistic expectations of your self and/or others, over commitment as an
excuse for not doing for yourself.
A
"Five" Year A year of change and a second chance for a new
beginning. You’re halfway through the
nine year cycle. This is a year of freedom and change. Opportunities for new beginnings will present
themselves. You can change your job,
indulge the physical senses (within moderation), enjoy a flirtation. Personal freedom will be at its peak, take advantage
of it. Travel, whether as many short trips or a long journey, will be high on
your agenda this year.
The challenges are not to be
anxious about making changes, don’t try to hold on to yesterday, be more
patient.
A
"Six" Year A year of service and responsibility. Like a 2 PY, it is
also an excellent year for beginning or ending personal relationships or
strengthening your relationship with Spirit.
Beginning this year and lasting through the 9 PY, learn to put the needs
of other's ahead of your own. It is also a good time to deal with real estate
in any form --- buying, selling, renting out a property or fixing one up. Be charitable, tolerant, and forgiving. Emit love . . . do not go to bed angry.
The potential challenges are
bullying to get your way, finances, and control issues.
A
"Seven" Year A year of self-analysis as well as learning to
surrender. What is decided upon now and
developed throughout the 8 PY and 9 PY, determines your spiritual direction and
your level of conscious satisfaction during the next nine year cycle. The 7 PY is the time Spirit gives you to
figure out who you are and where you are going.
By September 25th of the 7 PY, you must decide where you want to go,
what you want to be, and how you are going to get there. (You can modify your
decisions during the fourth quarter, but for now it is imperative that you
place your order with the Universe verbally or in writing.) These decisions will begin being activated in
your 1 PY.
Opportunities will present
themselves this year, but for them to materialize you’ll have to learn how to
allow them to happen and not “try” to make them happen.
The challenge is not to use
“doing for others” as an excuse for not being alone with you.
An
"Eight" Year A year of money and finance.
Having developed faith, patience, and self-awareness in your 7 PY, it is
time to "strut your stuff."
If you cooperated in your 2 PY, kept you nose to the grindstone in the 4
PY, and were of service in your 6 PY, then you will be rewarded either
materially or financially (or both) this year; if not, this will be a very difficult
year . . . one of financial hardships or karmic paybacks. The potential is here
for a major breakthrough.
The challenges are not to be
arrogant or a bully, and to have the confidence to walk your talk; don’t be
afraid to totally step into your power. Don’t be a manager, be a leader.
A
" Nine" Year
This is a year of endings and
letting go. A time to travel, especially
long distances. This year is the
"final exam." All that you have
learned throughout the current cycle you will be called upon to use this
year. Start nothing new that you wish to
continue. This is an excellent year to
end associations or dealings with those that are getting you down. Minimize the ego's reactions to losses and
emotional disappointments by realizing that you are preparing your Self for the
new beginnings of your 1 PY.
The challenge is becoming involved
in codependent or control situations, when you should be releasing attachments.
